Dr. Richard Westfal received his BS degree from Rollins College. He received his MD degree from Tulane University Medical Center. He completed his Internship, Residency and Chief Residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in NY City, with an academic appointment at NY Medical College.

He then practiced Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital before coming to New Canaan Medical Group in 2006.

He has authored/co-authored 4 books and 16 published articles in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine related topics.

Dr. Westfal is a certified member of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).
